Like other communication platforms, Skype for Business brings significant advantages: cross-platform functionality, reduced travel costs, and enhanced productivity.

Approached by a client, our task was to enhance their Skype for Business Communication service. We focused on improving load balancing, mitigating latency issues, enhancing scalability, and addressing network glitches. Our solution involved deploying robust network infrastructure across four Data Centers in two countries.

Objective

Our task was to optimize the existing LYNC 2013 (Skype for Business) network infrastructure. We aimed to enhance load balancing, address latency issues, and ensure superior scalability. Additionally, our objective involved resolving network glitches and offering comprehensive consultancy in this domain.

What was done

Initially, we collaborated closely with internal teams to grasp the existing setup’s intricacies. Through detailed discussions and meetings, a comprehensive design was formulated. We optimized traffic flow by shifting encryption to load-balancers and adopting cookie load-balancing for uniform server distribution. Key network points were upgraded to 40Gb, ensuring efficient data transmission. Additionally, the Front End Server pool was expanded to meet current demands, with room for future scalability. Following this, the design was successfully implemented across the remaining Data Centers.

Achievement

Through rigorous testing, all project requirements were met seamlessly. Users experienced noticeable performance enhancements, confirming the successful implementation of our solutions.
